On January 1 2010 Charles & Vicky Taff decided that   after 36 years of marriage, 2 grown children, 5 successful pastorates, and 3 years with other Teen Challenge centers.  We launched Victory House Teen Challenge  In our own 2 bedroom apartment in Goodland Kansas.  After a 6 month search for  a suitable location we moved our center  to its current location 9 miles north of Brewster Kansas. We selected the  location in order to provide a farm home for the girls God sends us.

Victory House is Purposefully “off the Beaten Trail”. Our goal is to have a homelike place that is away from all the distractions of the world.

We want  to simplify the lives of the young ladies and allow then to experience a quiet country lifestyle.  With chores to do and animals to care for.  In the mornings we are serenaded by our roosters and often we conclude our evenings with an old fashioned  campfire complete with roasted marshmallows.   We are  miles away from  anything so that the girls can enjoy the outdoors without concerns about negative influences.  We purposefully provide quiet times for the girls to reflect and listen to the Lord speak to their hearts.

Victory House is purposefully a small group home. We are a 10 bed facility. We want to give each girl the individual attention she needs. Often in larger group homes the individual girl is lost in the shuffle of daily living.   We have designed Victory House to  have a home like environment with family styled meals and visiting around the fireplace

Victory House is not a lock  down facility.  The girls are never locked into a room.  We do alarm the building so that we are aware of any one who decides to leave us. Most of the girls are content to stay and work on their life transformation.      We provide Horses to ride, goats to pet, cats to cuddle, ducks to  hold and rabbits to play with.

Victory House does accept young ladies against their will. In fact, most girls are not happy to be here at first but we are patient with them and they begin to even enjoy their time with us.
